11 tourists left hanging upside-down on rollercoaster after power cut

A group of 11 tourists were left hanging upside-down on a rollercoaster after a power outage caused chaos at a theme park in China’s Hebei Province.

Video footage which has gone viral on Chinese social media in recent days showed the roller coaster car carrying 11 tourists start moving to the top of the track when it suddenly stopped due to a power outage.

All passengers had to hang upside down for about 20 minutes at the ride in Nandaihe Amusement Park in Qinhuangdao City on June 6.

No one was injured but it is not clear whether the tourists will be compensated after suffering such a terrifying experience.

Authorities said they are investigating the cause of the incident.

Currently, the amusement park is still open to tourists. However, some adventure rides will be paused for maintenance.

Last January, several tourists were left hanging upside-down on a pendulum ride after it broke down at an amusement park in China.
