Singer Taeyang, member of K-pop boyband BigBang, is set to perform at a music festival in the ancient town of Hoi An in June.
A representative of Seen Festival confirmed Tuesday that Taeyang would perform at the event on June 17.
The news excited many Vietnamese fans, as BigBang is one of the top boy bands in South Korea. Dubbed the “Kings of K-pop”, BigBang helped spread the Hallyu wave to the international scene and are one of the most influential artists in the genre.
Formed in 2006 with the original lineup of five members, BigBang are still active with four members after 17 years.
Taeyang, 35, is the main vocalist and dancer of the group. In addition to his activities with BigBang, Taeyang also has several solo projects that achieved great success with hits like “Wedding Dress” and “Eyes, Nose, Lips”.
Seen Festival will take place June 17-18 in Hoi An in Quang Nam Province. The rumored lineup is said to include other K-pop acts like BoA, aespa and Somi. However, Taeyang is the only name confirmed so far.
