A container truck pushed a car sideways on a highway in the northern province of Hai Duong Tuesday after the latter switched lanes right in front of it.

But the car driver apparently did not check the rear mirror to see that a container truck was right behind it on the left lane. The truck hit the car and pushed it sideways, causing damage to the car but no casualties.
According to Vietnam’s traffic regulations, a driver who switches lanes without careful observation and thus causes accidents will be fined VND10-12 million (US$426-511) and lose their license for two to four months.
