A director working for Khanh Hoa Television died on Monday after falling from stands being built for spectators attending the Nha Trang beach festival.
At around 3 p.m. Pham Ngoc Hung, 60, was exploring a section of the stands opposite the main stage for the Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea festival program in downtown Nha Trang to identify camera locations.
He fell for unknown reasons from a height of around eight meters and sustained grievous injuries.
He was taken to the Khanh Hoa Province General Hospital, but was declared dead.
The cause of his fall is under investigation.
The province People’s Committee Office chief Nguyen Thanh Ha said the construction unit has been directed to review the safety of the stands.
The Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival is a major tourism event in the central beach town, and will be held from June 3 to 6 this year.
