Two men to receive fines for bathing in Sword Lake

At around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, two men, restaurant employees in Hang Bong Ward, walked from a fountain near Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square to Hoan Kiem Lake where they got into the lake, according to Hoan Kiem District police.

Several passersby saw what happened and told the men to stop, so they returned back to their workplace.

Video footage of the two men in the lake later went online.

Existing regulations ban activities like swimming and fishing at the lake.

The lake, spanning over 115,000 m2, is an iconic Hanoi destination surrounded by plants and other attractions, such as the Ngoc Son Temple.
